In the late 1800s, Scranton was a major rail transportation hub. It also was home to the nation’s first electric-powered street cars which earned it the title “The Electric City”. This exhibit displays artifacts reminiscent of local rail history with a special nod to the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western (DL&W) railroad, the Gravity Railroads, and streetcars.
